ENG:
Christmas is all around - which is why we have a present for you for the last lecture before winter break!
As announced, today’s lecture will be replaced by a panel discussion on COP28. We are more than excited to hear what our four experts and participants of COP28 think of this year’s outcomes and what experiences they made. What can be said about a climate conference hosted by an authoritarian state? Is all mere performance by politicians and decision-makers or may we expect actual action? How are loss and damage reparations negotiated? These are a few of the many queries our four participants will discuss:
Adenike Oladosu is a climate justice activist und Initator of Fridays for Future Nigeria. As part of her activism, she speaks at conferences like COP and the World Economic Forum.
You’re already acquainted with Grace Mbungu from her lecture in November. She manages the climate change programme of the Africa Policy Research Institute (APRI) und focussed, among many other things, on a global energy transition.
Franziska Müller is a regular speaker und co-organiser of the lecture series. They are a junior professor of globalisation and governance of climate politics at the University of Hamburg.
Yun Fang is an activist at Taiwan Youth Climate Coalition (TWYCC). TWYCC is a Taiwanese youth NGO that advocates for climate justice and sustainability in Taiwan. Yun Fang has been a member for more than three years now.
