Phân khoa Việt Nam Học, Đại học Hamburg, đã kính mời Nguyễn Vy Khanh, tác giả của bộ văn học sử "Văn Học Miền Nam 1954 – 1975" (2 tập, 1606 trang), để thuyết trình với chủ đề "Văn học Niềm Nam (1954 – 1975) dưới góc nhìn của nhà nghiên cứu văn học Nguyễn Vy Khanh".
Trong phần thuyết trình nhà nghiên cứu Nguyễn Vy Khanh đã trình bày kết quả của gần 30 năm nghiên cứu của mình. Ông điểm qua các giai đoạn phát triển cùng với những đặc điểm riêng của từng giai đoạn và nêu lên những khuynh hướng văn nghệ, đồng thời chỉ ra những chủ đề chính cũng như những điểm đặc thù của nền Văn Học Miền Nam trong thời gian này. Ngoài ra ông cũng đã nhấn mạnh đến sự tiếp nối và sự sống còn của nền Văn Học Miền Nam sau 1975.
Sau phần thuyết trình thính giả đã có thể đặt câu hỏi đến diễn giả cũng như góp ý và chia suy nghĩ của mình vào chủ đề trên.
Buổi luận đàm bằng tiếng Việt được chủ trì và điều phối bởi giáo sư Thomas Engelbert cùng thạc sĩ Cao Quang Nghiệp.

The Department of Vietnamese Studies, Hamburg University, invited literary researcher Nguyễn Vy Khanh (Toronto, Canada), author of the famous "History of Southern Literature 1954 – 1975" (two volumes, 1606 pages) to give a talk titled "Southern Vietnamese Literature (1954 - 1975) from the perspective of the literary researcher Nguyễn Vy Khanh".
In the presentation, Nguyễn Vy Khanh presented the results of his nearly thirty years of research. He reviewed the stages of development along with the unique characteristics of each stage and mentioned the main literary groups and trends, as well as the main themes and specific features of Southern Literature during this period of time. In addition, he emphasized the continuation and survival of Southern Literature after the fall of Saigon in 1975.
After the presentation, the audience had the opportunity to ask questions to the speaker or to give comments and share thoughts about the topic.
The talk was introduced by Professor Thomas Engelbert. Cao Quang Nghiep, MA, served as chair.
