Hebräische Lyrik in Berlin / שירה עברית בברלין / Hebrew Poetry in Berlin
There is probably no better way to start a conference on translation(s) than with the ultimate translation challenge: poetry. And not just any kind of poetry, but Hebrew poetry from Berlin, written by Israeli artists living between places, languages and cultures, between past and present. We are immensely grateful to Maya Kuperman and Mati Shemoelof for sharing their art and their insights during the of the opening event of the 13th international Joseph Carlebach Conference "Questions of Understanding. Translations between Israel and Germany, Germany and Israel" at Bar Ilan University, convened by Prof. Dr. Doerte Bischoff (UHH), Prof. Dr. George Y. Kohler (BIU) and Dr. Sebastian Schirrmeister (UHH). For more information on the conference visit https://www.carlebach.uni-hamburg.de/konferenze...
