Met.3D v1.13: Illustration of using visualization templates to analyze open weather forecast data from the German Weather Service (DWD)
This video demonstrates the use of Met.3D v1.13 visualization templates with open numerical weather prediction data (in the video an ICON-EU forecast is used) from the German Weather Service (DWD) open data server (source of the data: https://opendata.dwd.de).
It supplements our EMS2024 presentation:
Rautenhaus, M., Fischer, C., Vogt, T., Beckert, A., and Fuchs, S.: Towards Met.3D version 2: Rapid exploration of numerical weather prediction data by means of interactive 3-D visualization, EMS Annual Meeting 2024, Barcelona, Spain, 1–6 Sep 2024, EMS2024-946, https://doi.org/10.5194/ems2024-946, 2024.

The series “Met.3D” contains videos that illustrate different aspects of the open-source research software “Met.3D”, a software for rapid visual analysis of atmospheric data by means of interactive 3-D visualization. Met.3D development is lead by the Visual Data Analysis Group within the University of Hamburg's Hub of Computing and Data Science (HCDS).
